Dorje Go-Drab (also spelled Dorje Gotrab or Gotrap) is an extremely important deity in the Nyingma tradition. It is believed that Dorje Go-Drab is a special form of Guru Drakpo (a wrathful emanation of Guru Rinpoche). The practice of Dorje Go-Drab is a potent method for healing and is extremely beneficial for the degenerate times in which we live. Beings are affected by many different kinds of serious sicknesses and the mantra of Dorje Go-Drab, known as the Vajra Armour mantra, is particularly potent as a remedy for this. His practice was originally concealed by Guru Rinpoche and later revealed by a number of great Tertons as a complete path to liberation.
In this painting we can see Dorje Go-Drab as the central figure and above his head at the very apex is Samantabhadra in union. Chenrezig is seen in the top left and Manjushri in the top right. Vajra Yogini is seen in the middle left and Simhamukha in the middlle right. The principle Nyingma protectors are seen at the bottom of the thangka. Rahula is seen in the bottom left, Ekajati in the middle and Dorje Lekpa in the bottom right.
It is painted in the Karma Gadri style by one of the leading Tibetan thangka studios in Nepal and the artist has been painting for more than 30 years. His work is sought after by many of the great monasteries and is not available at any other Dharma store. This incredible painting has taken 4 months to complete.

Dorje Pakmo or Vajravarahi is the ecstatically fierce dakini, whose head is surmounted by the head of a sow whose screech shatters illusion. The sound of the screech obliterates all concepts and sharply confides the direct meaning - the one taste of Emptiness and Form. This form of Vajravarahi is one of the most special practices of the Kagyu Tradition and arises from the Chakrasamvara cycle of tantras belonging to the wisdom class of Anuttarayoga Tantra.

Although many forms of Mahakala appear attired in long flowing garments, black or otherwise, this protector is named 'Bernagchen' - Black Cloak Mahakala, and is particularly associated with the Karma Kagyu School.

A fine hand painted thangka of Vajrakilaya (Sangthik Phurba). Painted in the Karma Gadri style and according to the Chokling Tersar terma tradition. This particular form of Dorje Phurba was revealed to Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé by Tertön Chokgyur Lingpa. It later became an important practice for the traditional 3 year retreat in the Kagyu tradition.
