Mahabodhi Buddha Visualisation Card
Om muni Muni Mahamuni Shakyamuni Ye Svaha
Homage to the Great Sage Shakyamuni
This sacred image of the Buddha, carved in the tenth century during the reign of the Pala kings, was for centuries a central focus of devotion for pilgrims who worshiped in the Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya.
Later invasions disrupted Buddhism in northern India; the temple was abandoned and its images suffered from neglect. Now restored and once again honored by pilgrims who gather here from all parts of the world, the temple and its sacred images have been revitalized.
At the place where the Buddha was enlightened, they stand as beacons of knowledge and compassion, broadcasting from the most holy place blessings of harmony and peace to beings everywhere.” -back description
“One is never satiated to behold such an image, and has no desire to go
and behold another. Even people with little faith, when standing in front of the image,
felt it impossible not to shed tears.”
-Dharmasvamin, 13th Century Tibetan Pilgrim

Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara Om Mani Padme Hum Hri “Gazing upon the plight of sentient
beings, the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara vowed to rescue them even
from the depths of the hells, bus as fast as he could deliver them
from sorrow, others took their place.
As his compassion expanded in
response to the growing multitudes engulfed in confusion and pain,
eleven more heads arose from his body, topped by the head of the
Buddha Amitabha.
From his shoulders sprang a thousand arms, each
bearing an eye, so that no form of suffering would go unseen. From
this, the Bodhisattva is known as the All-Seeing Lord, the embodiment
of the power of enlightened compassion.” -back description

his right-hand and a bell in his left.
His body, lustrous and
transluscent, reflects the diamond-like purity and brilliance

GREEN TARA VISUALISATION CARD

Our Price: £2.50

Green Tara
Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha
Revered as compassionate mother of all beings, powerful
protectress, and subjugator of destructive forces, Greet Tara
manifests in many forms to save all who call upon her from the eight
great terrors that afflict body and mind.
In each hand she holds the stems of rare
lotuses that blossom at her shoulders, and extends the compassion and
mercy they signify with her right hand held in the gift-bestowing
gesture. Her right foot, supported by a lotus, is
held in the attitude of descending, suggesting Tara's readiness to
respond.
Here Tara is surrounded by eight manifestations, each
appears within a specific type of terror to remove fear, empower
prayer, and light the path to liberation. Below Tara, guarding the
meditator's entrance to her mandala, is the fierce protectoress
Lhamo.
Above is Amitayus, the Buddha of Infinite Light.” -back description
