Curated and edited by filmmaker Guy Maezelle (the album accompanies his documentary) this haunting album compiles rare recordings of sacred chants intoned by the late Tibetan lamaBokar Rimpoche, voiced alternately in solo, in small groups, and, most powerfully, in even more expansive ceremonial configurations. There are also tracks of Tibetan bowls, which produce soothing overtones, a spoken-word track of the lama's teachings, and a recording of a river in the Mirik forest.These 60 minutes of recorded sound are a testament to the power of chanting, and a moving tribute to a great teacher.
