Description
 
A rare solid cast bronze statue of a seated Buddha Shakyamuni. This was aquired from an Asian art dealer in London and has been appraised to be 8th to 10th Century. It displays a fine patina commensurate with age. A lovely serene piece that is more than 1000 years old! It is likely that this statue originally sat on a plinth as part of an altar arrangment. This would have raised it above any other surrounding figures.
