A super ancient agatised or opalised Pumtek stone bead with the rare radiating sun design. A lovely gem with a central equatorial stripe and 8 lines extending horizontally across the body. This design is often compared to a 'rail track' or the stitching on a rugby ball. If you view the side profile you can see this decoration actually forms a sun like design. The sun being the decorated circle around the holes and the sun rays being the 8 lines that radiate outwards. The body and ends are worn smooth from centuries of rubbing against the body and other beads.
