A wonderful antique (possibly ancient) opalised Pumtek stone bead with the rare radiating sun design. The bead has a central equatorial stripe with 8 lines extending horizontally across the body, which is often compared to a 'rail track' or the stitching on a rugby ball. If you view the side profile you can see this decoration also forms a sun like design. The sun being the decorated circle around the holes and the sun rays being the 8 lines that radiate outwards.
