A lovely ancient Pumtek stone bead from Burma. This is one of the rarer designs seen on pumtek. The bead displays triple end stripes and the six bird or chevron design. It is interesting to note that when this design is seen on an ancient dZi beads, the birds are viewed as the Garuda. A dZi with a Garuda design will also command upwards of $30,000 in Tibet and Nepal. The ends and body of the bead are polished smooth from centuries of rubbing against the skin and other beads.

Origin: Burma, Pyu/Tircul period
