In this category you will find tantric ritual daggers or nails that are known by the name of Phurba in Tibetan or Kila in sanskrit. The three edged Kila is directly linked to the wrathful deity Vajrakilaya. He is also known in Tibet as Dorje Phurba and is usually seen depicted with his consort Khorlo Gyedunma. Vajrakilaya is embodied in the kÓla as a means of liberating violence, hatred, and aggression.

We now offer genuine Meteorite Phurbas that are without doubt the finest ritual Kila supports available.

Rare Bronze & Meteorite Iron Phurba Amulet - Available by Special Commission

A superfine hand crafted bronze phurba with an incredibly rare Siberian meteorite blade. Guaranteed to be crafted from authentic Seymchan iron meteorite, which was first discovered in Siberia in 1967. Each piece is hand crafted by a master metal worker who is unsurpassed in the making of ritual phurbas in modern times. It is believed that Tibetans have an ancient tradition of using meteoric iron for ritual Phurbas, however, very few genuine pieces are believed to exist. There is often mention of Guru Rinpoche or Yeshe Tsogyal concealing meteoric phurbas as terma and quite a number have been re-discovered over the centuries. The immense power of a meteorite when it falls to earth is so destructive in nature that it is easy to see why sky metal is the most sought after material for ritual phurbas.

Rare Iron Phurba or Kila Pendant
Superior Iron Phurba or Kila Amulet Pendant - Large Size - Crafted in Tibet
Our Price: £85.00

A very fine hand crafted iron phurba amulet and practice support from Tibet. We are delighted to be able to offer work from Tibetan artisans as most modern day ritual items are coming from Nepal and India. Each piece is individually hand carved and can take a considerable amount of man hours to complete. It is extremely difficult to carve pieces of this size in such fine detail, so these truly are wearable works of sacred art. They are slightly larger in size than the other iron Phurba pendants in our inventory, which allows finer detail to be displayed. For example you will notice that additional flames have been engraved on the blade. The earrings are also larger and the overall piece is much darker in colour. These are not just amulets that can be worn but are equally valid as ritual supports.

The three sided blade is held in the mouth of the mythical sea creature known as a Makara and represents the power to transform the "three poisons" or kleshas into wisdom. The three wrathful deity heads at the apex represent the three kayas and inwardly represent the three channels of the body.

length approx 7.6 cms
width approx 1.5 cms
Material: Iron
Origin: Tibet

Please note that these pieces are individually crafted. This means each phurba will have its own unique character. Slight variations in detail should be expected.

Tip: If you notice rust appearing on any iron ritual item, simply use a toothbrush (used for this purpose only) to gently apply olive oil to the affected areas and then remove any residue with a soft cloth.

These phurbas are amongst the finest iron ritual phurbas available in the world today! These pieces have been hand crafted by a Tibetan family who have been making ritual phurbas for more than 50 years. Iron is notoriously difficult to carve and these pieces have been worked entirely by hand. The attention to detail is unsurpassed. It has taken the maker more than 6 months to create just 10 phurbas for us, so this should give you an idea of the time and effort involved in each piece. This is the kind of work only commissioned by high Lamas and monasteries. They are large and majestic and have an awesome presence.
