A great rupa of Dorje Bernagchen (The Black Cloak two armed Mahakala). It is finished in dark oxidised copper and the face is hand painted and enriched with gold. The skulls in the diadem are inlaid with coral and turquoise. A very beautiful understated rupa with lovely attention to detail. This two armed form is the personal protector of the Karmapas and the main protector of the Karma Kagyu lineage. He is also recognised as the wrathful manifestation of Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
