A superior large Thangka of the 21 emanations of Green Tara. This is certainly amongst the finest Thangkas we have seen available in or outside of Asia. This piece was painted by a Tibetan artist from East Tibet, who has more than 25 years experience. He spent many months working on this piece using hand prepared mineral based paints. The brocade mounting is also of superior silk and finished to breathtaking quality. It has taken us many years to source Thankgas of this quality so we are very excited to be able to offer a selection of works from this artist.
Green Tara is associated with the air element. She embodies female wisdom and has many peaceful and wrathful aspects. She is known as the "Swift Saviouress" due to her readiness to protect us from negative forces and help us avoid negative karma. Meditation on Green Tara is thought to bring quick thinking, spontaneity and wisdom in our actions, generosity, magical perfection and fearlessness. Her short mantra is OM TARE TUTARE TURE SVAHA.
