Genuine Pema Raka Bead Necklace with Ancient Decorated Agates
SOLD!
A wonderful large Pema Raka necklace with centuries old wear at the perforations. It is now incredibly difficult to find round shaped Pema Raka beads and they have become highly sought after in Tibet in recent years. This strand also includes 10 rare decorated agates that display eyes or the longevity decoration. The agates were collected in India in the 1970s and have remained in a private collection until very recently. All of the beads display a patina that can only develop after many centuries of being heirloomed.
Condition: Very Good

Ancient Two Stripe Chung dZi

A rare size decorated agate dZi bead. This bead displays 2 equatorial stripes. The natural banding in the agate can still be seen on the body of the bead and it even runs through the decorated stripes. This really is a very impressive looking bead, however, there are some heavy dings and niks (some possibly from medicinal use) on the body. Despite this, the bead remains robust and is free from breaks or repairs and is full of character. If this bead was in perfect condition it would easily fecth 3 or 4 times the asking price in todays marketplace.

A small ancient lotus dZi with some decoration loss. This bead displays a wonderful usage patina and a body worn smooth from centuries of close body contact. The decorated lines probably once arched over to form the appearance of lotus petals. This design is much rarer than the more common longevity design. This bead has a look and feel more closely related to a Phum dZi.
