A collection of hand beaten Tibetan silver spoons with double bowls and well matched in size. Spoons were prized tools used for eating and also for taking medicinal remedies as silver was considered to have special antiseptic properties. The silver itself may have been heirloomed within a family for many centuries before it was eventually used in the making of a spoon or other utensils. It means a spoon may once have started life as several pieces of silver jewellery.
