A wonderful painting in the traditional Newari style that is unique to the Kathmandu Valley. This thangka was aquired from a European collection and was probably commissioned around 20 years ago. It displays Chakrasamvara or Korlo Demchog in union with Vajrayogini as the central figures and they are surrounded by their scared assembly.

Chakrasamvara manifests in a number of forms, including this two-armed form. As one of the principal yidams of the Kagyupa lineages, he is most commonly depicted in this form. He is shown in union with the red wisdom Dakini, Dorje Phagmo. Chakrasamvara or Korlo Demchog is often translated to mean Highest Bliss.
