A bow shaped stone bead of rare appearance and size. It has been suggested that this is a close grained chlorite schist with a band of quartz. This bead is in perfect condition. It was originally purchased strung with ancient Pyu beads. Since this is the only example we have seen of a bow shaped bead being made from this material, it is very difficult to say whether this is genuinely ancient. However, large bow shaped agate beads have certainly been found in Burma. Whether it was originally from Burma or was traded from elsewhere is unknown. It is a very handsome one of a kind bead.
