A very nice example of a Tibetan chatelaine or belt ornament from Eastern Tibet. Typically used to attach to a Mechag or Chuckmuck. The metal work is a combination of repoussť and chased silver with gold inlay and this is attached to the original fabric strap. The main piece shows particularly nice silver work and displays the Kirtimukha design with seven raised norbu (gems).

Origin: Collected in Tibet in the 1980s and part of the Stone Routes Collection.
