Product Code: 465335BELL

A lovely looking antique five prong ghanta bell with matching antique five prong vajra.

The bell displays a very detailed design that includes a protective vajra fence and above this are the traditional eight heads of the Kirtimukha. These heads are also considered to symbolise the Makara, a mythical crocodile-like creature from Indian mythology and protectors of the mandala. Each is holding a chain of jewels. Between and above the Kirtimukha is a another row of vajras. Above this is an eight petalled lotus seat for the eight bodhisattvas and their consorts. The handle has a finger hole symbolising the wisdom of emptiness. A great ritual instrument with a gentle and pleasing tone.

Age: 19th C
Quality: Bronze alloy
The bell is approximately 18 cms high.
Vajra measures 4.5 inches

The set comes complete with a new high quality brocade case.
