A rare new dZi bead that was sourced several years ago from a bead dealer in China, although it is likely they were created in India. We first noticed these beads appear in Nepal around 4 or 5 years ago and they were being sold as ancient. They also had a selling price of more than $1000 each. They are interesting because the agate material appears to be be old, however, the decoration is a recent addition. In the last couple of years they have completely disappeared from Nepal, leading us to believe that not many of this particular type were created. This is certainly one of the most collectible new dZi beads you are likely find. This opaque agate bead displays the longevity decoration and 12 spots or eyes.
